Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore
Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex, Lahore (SZMC) is one of the premier medical institutions in the country. It was commissioned on 8th September 1986.
Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex now comprises of 5 components:
- Shaikh Zayed Hospital (SZH) & National Institute of Kidney Diseases (NIKD)
- Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahayan Medical & Dental College (SKZMDC)
- Federal Postgraduate Medical Institute (FPGMI)
- National Health Research Complex (NHRC)
- Sheikha Fatima Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences (SFIN & HS)
The hospital comprised of 360 beds at the time of commissioning. Since then, the institute has progressed considerably with the addition of new components and a tremendous increase in diagnostic and treatment facilities.
The bed strength increased to 713 in 2004. At present, with the addition of more beds, the current capacity stands at 1031 beds.
All departments of this hospital are recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan for FCPS training.
