Introduction

Shaikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute (SZPGMI) is one of the premier medical institutions in the country. It was commissioned on 8th September 1986.

Shaikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore now comprises of 5 components:

Shaikh Zayed Hospital (SZHL) & National Institute of Kidney Diseases (NIKD)
Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahayan Medical & Dental College (SKZMDC)
Federal Postgraduate Medical Institute (FPGMI)
National Health Research Complex (NHRC)
Sheikha Fatima Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences (SFIN & HS)

Objectives

Shaikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute's has following main objectives:

Treatment facilities at Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore.
Development of state of art training facilities for postgraduate and MBBS degrees.
Center for dissemination of knowledge of medical sciences and establish liaison with international centers for medical research and education.
Developed research facilities through National Health Research Complex.
Provide a platform to absorb rapidly advancing technology.
